Excerpts of the geotechnical survey, referenced 86 12.4.3040 of April 94, and from note 1292/7/228 of July 26 1994 from CEBTP

Conclusions : The section studied presents some uncertainties concerning the thickness of each formation, principally in the upper levels. The accumulation of these uncertainties leaves a veil on the actual depth of the ceiling of the Bathonian calcium deposits. Furthermore, the form and the actual position of the tectonic irregularities to the North of the project are unknown.

Concerning the mechanical characteristics of all of the formations encountered, some data are available, but it is important to specify the characteristics of the basic glauconite and the actual thicknesses and characteristics of the different levels of Oxfordo-Callovian clays. It is also necessary to verify the composition of the lime bed (clay level) and the levels of sand possible at the Bathonian.

To clarify these different points, confirmation is necessary by at least two bore holes, on both sides of the project along an axis oriented N20. These bore holes will permit doubts to be lifted as to the stratigraphy and the tectonics appropriate to the project, and will permit measurement of the geophysical characteristics of the soils encountered.
